Dr. Naveed graduated from Dow Medical College, Karachi (1995).He completed his Neurology Residency Training between 1999 and 2002 from Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, and Neurology Boards (FCPS- College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan). Later, he did Stroke and Cerebrovascular fellowship from University of Alberta, Canada (2002 to 2005). In March 2005, he moved to Qatar and joined Hamad Medical Corporation. 

At present, he is working as Senior Consultant Neurologist, Director of Stroke Service, and Assistant Professor at WCM-Qatar. Since his appointment at HMC, he has continued to dedicate his time and abilities towards academic, research and clinical activities. He’s research interests are acute stroke care and intervention, stroke epidemiology, and biomarkers in acute stroke. To date, he has published 70 articles in peer reviewed journals, and wrote five review articles. At present he is a Principal Investigator of multiple HMC studies, collaborating with WCM-Qatar, HBKU, Qatar University and University of Alberta, Canada. He has been the Lead Physician involved in accreditation and re-accreditation of HMC as Primary Stroke Center at the Joint Commission International (JCI). He has represented HMC at local and International level regarding building up Stroke programs. He has also been engaged in training sessions for physicians, nursing and para-clinical staff, and promoted awareness among patients and families, both inside Qatar and in the region.
